Every day that we have been a part of this school and this community has been a gift.

We first heard and knew about Ambleside very shortly after the school opened and started. I would drive by the school often and see the sign out. Eventually, that just led me to checking out the website and seeing what Ambleside was all about.
About the same time, I remember seeing kids in our neighborhood wearing uniforms that said Ambleside. I realized, “Okay, there are people that actually go there and they live close to us.”
I thought that if my kids could ever be in a full-time private Christian school, that would be the place that I would want them. Ambleside was the picture of everything that I could imagine in a school. But I also felt there was no way that it could be a reality for our family. My husband was in full-time ministry and the thought of paying private tuition for our children was simply out of our reach.
I recall having conversations with people in my life who said, “If you really think Ambleside’s a good fit, you should check into it. They do tuition assistance for families who need it, and they don’t want financial reasons to be the main thing that keeps somebody out.”
I remember lying in bed late one night and my husband saying, “Let’s just look into it. Let’s see what happens and we’ll keep going until a door is closed.” We initiated, applied and the kids were accepted. The door was still open.
After we were accepted, the school called us asking, “Do you think you can you pay this amount of money for your kids to go to school here?” We were amazed, “Yes, we can do that.” The tuition assistance came through with enough that it actually turned Ambleside into a reality for us.
Every day that we have been a part of this school and this community has been a gift. Every single morning on the way to school we pray. Part of our prayer is, “Lord, thank you for the school and thank you for the opportunity to be here.” Other events like going to Chapel are a part of our family’s rhythm each week as well.
At our parent teacher conferences the teachers talk about our children’s character — not just their academics. It’s clear that they’re discipling as well as educating them. We know the teachers are here to shape and care for their hearts and to really know and shepherd them. It’s all so intentional.

This year, we did not need any tuition assistance. We paid full tuition. We have been so blessed by this school and this community and we have continued to say, “We will do what we need to do to be able to stay here.”
And now we also have extra to bless others to be able to be a part of the school, and we are grateful for that in the same way that we are grateful for how people have helped and allowed us to be a part of the school from the beginning.
This year’s theme verses from Deuteronomy 6 have always been our prayer for our home and family. That’s so much a part of what the school does. We are so thankful to be a part of this community that loves the Lord our God with all our hearts and with all our souls and with all our might.
Dear Ambleside Colorado families and friends,
It is the mission of the Ambleside administration and faculty to provide A Living Education, centered on Christ, where each child is guided and empowered to author a full and free life, a life rich in relationship to God, self, others, ideas, and all of creation.
We intend to carry out our mission and fulfill our motto in such a way that impacts the children in our classrooms, our wider community of families, and the world, by training and equipping those interested in bringing this living education to their communities.
This is why it is our tradition to support families who are unable to financially afford an Ambleside education.
Such is the case with the story of this cherished Ambleside family. They drove by our school daily. They prayed and considered financially which of their children could attend and the others that would not. But they took the step of faith, applied and we were able to welcome them to Ambleside through your generous financial support.
And now, years later, this family is able to come alongside and regift to the benefit of other families.
As we expand Ambleside Colorado grade by grade, the need for these scholarships also grows with us. Prayerfully, please help us extend this assistance to more families so they too can experience the Word diligently taught to their children through an Ambleside education.
